I waited for the 7th place to post my suggestion...I wanted to put Nana-chan at 7th place (I know...lame pun...but she milks Nana is 7 trope herself. Pricing Live Diamond tickets at 7,777yen and voices the official Windows 7 mascot). Yes this is me being a total Nanatard again...

Not sure whether she is the best female pop singer, there are lot of impressive female singers (Ayaka and the good o' Utada Hikaru comes to mind). But as far as anison and seiyuu go, she's probably the most popular right now within the two groups.

Talking about Nana. Congtratuations to her for 2 Days Seibu Dome concert this summer. With 30k audience each day. Her concert naming skillz is epic as ever. Live Games Red Stage and Live Games Blue Stage. Oh yea, new album at 7/7. Yup she's playing with the Nana is seven trope again.

Yes, I like “My Soul, Your Beats!” very much too. The piano is so beautiful in that song. I haven’t read the translation of the song yet, but it gives off a very nostalgic and bittersweet feeling when you listen to it.

Iirc, I read the same translation when I watched that episode, so I guess the translation is correct…

And even though the lyrics are pretty mean and sound as if Maria is insulting Sister (well…she really is ), I do think that is Maria’s bizarre and sadistic way to show her love for Sister.

THE CHERRY COKES

About THE CHERRY COKES

THE CHERRY COKES are an eclectic 7 piece band that plays a furious mixture of punk and Celtic music. The band started back in 1999 and released a few demo CDs and had numerous member changes until 2003 when they landed their seven person lineup. In 2004 they got the chance of a lifetime and toured with the band that influenced the band to their core when they came to Japan, Flogging Molly. They formed a close bond and released their first CD on their label, "BULLION" (Flogging Molly, Casualties, 7 Seconds, Suicide Machines, Useless ID, etc.). This first release got them noticed in a big way in Japan. They were all over the music channels and got a high ranking in all of the indies charts. The band blew up from there and toured with many bands and hit the festival circuit. At one point they had a special program on the Music Video TV station M-ON and held an acoustic live performance. From 2006 - 2008 they made a departure and played mostly with Japanese bands like KEMURI. In 2008 they released their third album, SAIL THE PINT. The band classifies their music as drinking music and frequently alludes to drinking in their music and choice of titles. The band released a new mini album in 2009 entitled "keep the fire".

Starting back in 1999 The Cherry Cokes$ have attracted an audience in Japan with their unique sound; a drunken Irish punk incorporating banjo, mandolin and tin whistle. Their first album, "Beer my Friends", brought them to national attention in the indies scene with airplay of their music video on MTV and SpaceShower TV. Now you can find them touring with some of the biggest names in punk when they come to Japan. They have toured with Flogging Molly and The Casualties and have played the Tokyo gigs of such legends as Greenland Whalefishers and the Dropkick Murphys.

Currently they're signed to Step Up Records records. A new album is out and they will start their “Giant Killing” tour next month.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we’ve got a new awesome music contest for you!

February the 14th is a day when love is celebrated and what better way to convey feelings that with music.

That’s why this time the contenders will be Asian songs (Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean) nominated by you, the members. Whether the song is from an anime, Asian drama or a regular song, as long as the song is about love please feel free to nominate it for this music contest.

- Only one song per member can be nominated; please post the name of the song, the artist and, if possible, provide a link so that we can listen to the song.

- The nomination process will begin today and will end on Wednesday. A poll will be used so that you can vote for your favorite song and the voting process will last from Thursday to Sunday. The results and the winner will be revealed on Valentine’s Day.
