Well this is something published in wsj once a year.
I think it's about the most promising one shots that will appear in wsj later on and might get a place later on as a full running serie

Re: WSJ: Golden future cup

Oh yeah, thanks a lot koenosaki for the info!

I was wondering what the gold cup at the manga first page meant. The first one-shot Grandchild of Nurari Hyon was posted at the RTS.
I like the artwork for it, and thought sometimes its good to look at some new stuff too! :amuse

Apparantly, I heard Hitomi no Catopebas started off as a one-shot too, and see where it landed itself now. :)

So is this out yet? If not, then when it is, will someone scanlate some of the interesting ones? I can see 1 or 2 that look cool...

Re: WSJ: Golden future cup

Muddy raw is out at the Raw Manga Jouhou. In future, we will try to compile the raws for this special run of one-shots that appear in WSJ, in case some translators and Manga Editors are interested in them :)

As for Grandchild of Nurari Hyon, the translation is up by shrimpy! Kudos to him/her!! Now, what we are missing is a Manga Editor to pick it up :amuse

I will PERSONALLY come worship whoever translates the formidable and brilliant looking Muddy one shot. Visual brilliance and comedy are guaranteed, but what the hell is going on in it?

Atm muddy is indeed the better one of the two. But I don't know what's it about. The things that came into my mind: boy made out of mud by some freakin scientist. For the rest it's about scientist making huge rats, etc :o

Re: WSJ: Golden future cup

Muddy is the story about a human chimera. Can't say the idea is original but I suppose using a human is. Although it indeed has better art, after looking at both the shots I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. The topics are good (i really like N-H's bad guys are the good guys thing), but developing these is what will make or break them.

N-H's little "purification" scene really turned me off. If I had seen that earlier, I prob. wouldn't have transed it.
