My pick for champion would be Italy

I saw some early odds earlier, just to see what are the odds of favorite. It's pretty much Italy and Germany.

Today's match winners should be Czech and Portugal, on paper only. But hey, lets have a really surprising opening day by rooting for Switzerland and Turkey

turkey is doomed unless portugal have an off day and the switz if they defend as if they lives depended on it yes they can pull the first upset of the euros.

Since england didnt even qualify, i'll support the underdogs in each match. XD Germany i think has the easiest chance of reaching the final. If things go to plan then the only really difficult team they would need to beat is portugal. Spain IMO have the best squad but they're likely to choke it in the latter stages. But the group of death is going to be exciting. Italy lost cannavaro so maybe their defence is weak *cross fingers*

My pick of underdogs is croatia, and russia. Russia because they have the genius of Hiddink with them and croatia because they're damn strong, although they're missing eduardo. >.>

Eh but well, despite I dislike the design, the important thing is that the ball works good. I haven't heard a complain about it, unlike the Tricolor ball (probably, can't remember the exact name), which was said too light or something.

Somebody ALWAYS complains about the new ball XD. The keepers are moaning about it this time. Something about it being unpredictable...they should have just used the teamgeist, which i thought was pretty decent. >.>

Ehh.. I'd say it's all fair I guess. If the keeper is having a hard time to guess the ball flight path, the strikers will have problems aiming too

I was thinking the same about some players...

As for my favorite... I'm patriotic when it comes to international soccer events. So, I'm truly cheering for Germany all the way. For the matches without Germany, I'm always supporting the teams of friends countries (mainly Sweden, Turkey and France - but Italy and Oranje can go flying, even if I had half of the country as friends, that's tradition ). If there's no such team in a match than - female to the core as I am - decide on the nicer color >.>

Let's wait for the knockout stage. To many teams atm for a good poll. But I'll add the results every evening to the first post.
