Welcome to the 2017 Edition of the Scavenger Hunt!

To keep us all entertained we at MangaHelpers are excited to host this forum-wide event to test your general knowledge, as well as knowledge of manga, our forum and community.

Hunt Information

The Scavenger Hunt will run from 1st May until 8th May.
The days are broken down into 4 rounds, so you will have 48 hours (2 days) to solve riddles.
There will between 3-5 riddles in each round, except the final round.
The first riddle for each round will be posted in this thread and the post will be stickied, to ease access.
Participants can remain in their teams until the last round, where it is every player for themselves.
Final Round information will be given at a later time.

How To Participate

First of all, thank you to all those who took advantage of the Preliminary Sign Up; it means you will have advantage of time and won't have to play catch up after the first day.
For those who are just seeing this now and wanting to get involved, it's not too late!

Hunters can register as solo, pairs or a group.
A maximum of three (3) hunters allowed per team.
If you are a pair (2) or 3, please state the name of all members and a team name, if you have chosen one.
Ensure that all your teammates are willing to participate before submitting their names to us. This is to avoid last-minute withdrawal or misunderstanding if that person is unaware of the game.

Members wanting to join after the Scavenger Hunt has begun (1st May), will need to solve the current round and previous rounds' riddles before proceeding to the next round. No extra time will be given to the new hunters. Therefore those who have joined the hunt from the start of the game will have the advantage over the newcomers.

Example: If a new hunter joins on round 2, he/she will still have to send in the correct riddle-answers for 1st round and 2nd (current) round and then proceed as per normal to continue the game.

How To Play

The first riddle for every round will be posted in this thread and will be clearly visible for all to see. Solving this riddle will lead you to a thread. Searching through that thread, you will find a post confirming that you've solved that riddle and you need to "Click here to notify mods that you've solved this riddle." You will not be able to solve subsequent riddles if you do not click to notify us and therefore fail.
When you solve the final riddle of the round, you will find a post confirm as much.

You will have 48 hours to solve each round.
You cannot request a hint until 3 hours have expired.
To request a hint for each riddle, you must PM the word "hint" to the @Scavenger Hunt Host.
Only ONE hint will be given PER RIDDLE. Trying to solve each riddle without hints could prove to be advantageous to you/your group in the end. So bear that in mind.

At no point is it acceptable to provide assistance to other players/teams. Any participants found doing so will be disqualified.Rewards

Remember that Forum Rules still apply, so we kindly ask you to adhere to them.

REMEMBER - you have to be logged in to see the game - this means, searching threads for the answers, when not logged in, will not enable you to see them (even if you find the right posts!)
This is to stop people accidentally stumbling into the game, when they are not a part of it.

NEW RULE

Due to the difficulty of our first round, we are implementing a new rule half-way through... sorry about this guys, hopefully this helps out.

10 hours before the end of the round, you can ask for a 2nd hint.
If, however, you choose to take this hint, you will receive less points for the question.
It will be taken that you have already asked for the first hint, so you might as well ask for that first (you will get more points if you don't ask for 2nd hint).
As usual, ask for the first hint from the Scavenger Hunt Host (as per usual)
For the 2nd hint, however, you can PM a responsible mod [@Demonspeed,@goldb,@Gallon,@zimbardo,@Belserion] and we will give them personally.
Please remember that we have to do this via a PM. It won't be automated, like the Scavenger Hunt Host's are - so I suggest PMing a mod who is online first, before sending to one who is not.

TLDR

You can PM a game host for a 2nd hint (not the Scavenger Hunt Host)
BUT ONLY WHEN 10 HOURS LEFT IN THE ROUND
Don't do this before asking the Scavenger Hunt Host for a hint first - as your points won't be more if you only ask for hint 2 and not hint 1.

IMPORTANT

Remember, all the rounds follow on from each other.

This means that you must have found all of the answers to round 1's riddles before you can begin to find the answers to round 2's.

You must then have found all of the answers to round 2's riddles before you can begin to find the answers to round 3's.

You can not skip any riddles in the previous rounds - and jump straight into searching for the the next round's answers!

Teams/players who have not completed rounds 1, 2 and 3 by the end of round 3 will be kicked from the game!

So, don't go holding out on asking for clues, if you don't want to lose completely - fewer points are still worth more than no points, in the final round.

Hey guys

I know that the Hunt Host is a sexy beast, but he isn't really the 'conversing' type (as in, he may not partake in these wonderful conversations you guys are trying to have with him).

Also, he's a bit of a stickler for rules.

This means, he won't actually give any hints out before the first 3 hours of that riddle are up - no matter how kindly you ask him (or how desperately you plead)

TLDR, if you want cheating hints - he isn't the person to go to.

I, however, am easily bribed - if you are willing to sell yourself that cheaply

Thank you for organizing the hunt and for all the hard work you have put into this event with your fellow organizers! Thank you~

Charlie and I had fun while trying to find the clues (yeah...I know we did not make it pass the first clue

, but we still had fun) ; however, RL and our jobs (and the work we have to do like for example, yeah...I haven't even finished making the first exam!!!) have made us take the decision to drop out of the game.

Team Purity wishes the best of luck to the other teams and hunters! May the best hunter win!

It's not, though. Maybe it's just me who thinks so, but if the riddle is that vague, it implies the solution will likely be very easy to spot, hence my trying to make it a bit more challenging. Additionally, if the thread's title sounds nothing like the riddle, you can just skip it - I know it's very, very vague, but it's not bullshit.
It still requires some searching, but it's not like this is supposed to be very easy.

The New Rule in the opening post goes in effect in exactly 2 HOURS, as we enter the last 10 hours of Round 1. Please read that post carefully.

Therefore Round 1 ends at 12PM GMT and Round 2 will begin at 1PM GMT.

An update and alert will follow just before the next round.

Are you using the hints? that should help and you can also request 2nd hints for the Round 1 riddles. But that could handicap you in the end.

Apologies to all those that were looking for the Round 2's 3rd riddle. A handful of you were in the right place but because of addon conflict, the solution wasn't showing where it should've been and we weren't aware of it until just now.
