yea thats it

i never gave it a chance until recently

but the art is amazing, the characters are well developed and interesting

and the plot is second to none in all of shounen manga

the aladdin manga or something?
It's an action manga serialized in Sunday, it derived pretty much as an amalgamation of various 1001 night tales. I'd say it's one of the most consistent manga, quality-wise compared to the other popular Shounen titles. Worth your time to if you consider to read it, the art might be "childish" for but the story alone keeps most of its fans following it passionately.

I finished reading/marathoning Shiki last night, and all I can say is... wow.

The climax of the series was something I would never have expected to read in shonen even though Jump SQ is aimed at an older audience than WSJ. It was mentally draining but not so much as the specific chapter when Ozaki records himself...

doing experiments on his wife. I know his wife was a Shiki/"dead" by that point, but she was still feeling pain.

It might have been a good idea to take a breather at that point, but I was so engrossed that I kept reading. /masochist
