I think most are using all the allocated time for....quality purposes :nod.

That said, let know if you need any help; there's still plenty of time :vbunny

Also, I wanted to know about you guys and how you celebrate my holiday.

So I'll share a little later (it'll hint to who I am) but I also want to know:

1. What Christmas traditions do you have specific to your family/countries?
2. What are your fondest Christmas memories?
3. Best gift you've received?

So these presents are in the oven~

And about how I celebrate your holiday....
1. What Christmas traditions do you have specific to your family/countries? - My family isn't honestly not very 'christmassy' but most years we do 'gourmetten' (@Copy Panda Yes, I know). Basically food and chilling
2. What are your fondest Christmas memories? Probably the fooooooooood. Food gives me life.
3. Best gift you've received? We don't really give gifts during Christmas, but did receive a bottle of wine or two, which was great.

Wait, I am supposed to make a gift?!

  1. Christmas tradition of my wife and me are basically the same; pretend we don't have family. Has worked so far, we might pick up traditions for our own little family in the future.
  2. N/A.
  3. N/A.

Most honest answers I could give, which only makes it more sad, lol.

I will answer them too

1. I usually meet with the family to eat/play or watch movies. Nice food!
2. Hmm, I think it was playing with the friends/fam during a Christmas eve.
3. I don't remember a gift I consider my favorite during xmas (I got cookies and sweets sometimes), but I didn't get many in my life. However, I do like the Ananas I got in the market as a Christmas gift, that was nice.

1. From my background, I come from a culture where Christmas is a very religious holiday; so church time with family and meals, etc. But having grown up, me and my siblings started making our own traditions; similar to those previous ones but without the church or traditional meals. We'd usually take turns hosting and since there's a lot of us, we do Secret Santa which is more fun. Gift giving wasn't really part of our upbringing and it's the only commerliazed aspect that we've taken. So @Xadyu I hope you and your wife create lots of traditions that you can both enjoy :hbunny

2. I had stayed with my uncle for a while and I remember waking up in the middle of the night to noises of him and his wife moving presents downstairs to put under the tree. I was already at an age where I knew better but he had 2 much younger kids who were really excited for it. It stuck with me just because I saw how hard they were working to set up everything. Just not hard enough to not make any noise I guess~ :teehee

3. Hmmm there is one, I got from a friend I hadn't known too long *at the time* but it was unexpected and quite fancy. It was nearly 10 years ago but it's still in perfect condition and I just display it rather than make any use of it.

Not physically, no. Well, unless you know your recipient personally. :?bunny Check the opening post again.

Googling that made me think of korean bbq buffets.

What sort of wines were they, do you remember?

I was joking. But I'm hoping this PornHub gift card is enough.

1. Specific to my family, in recent years we have shifted from having pork ribs for Christmas to having reindeer steak.
2. My fondest Christmas memories are probably waking up when it is still dark outside and going downstairs seeing all of the christmas lights light up the rooms. (plus the advent calendar through december) :nod And watching typical Christmas shows/movies. Like "Three Wishes for Cinderella".
3. It would have to be the violin from my grandfather that he made.

1. Hah Marms went into the deets of how the locals do it, but on first christmas day ma would make bunch of indian and surinamese snacks while my sister and I consumed crumpets and other english goods till moms stuff was ready. In the evening we'd marathon detective conan and board games. Rinse repeat till new year, when I'd show up a bit rounder for meet-ups with friends. Those were the times

2. My not-quite-girlfriend at the time once dressed up as Rin. It was a bit before christmas but there was a christmas tree and decor and shit so it counts. Yup those were the times

3. If we're talking christmas gifts specifically, probably the siberia headset I got. Loved that thing. When it stopped working, I bought a new one. By the time that one stopped, they didn't produce the old siberia anymore so had to buy the successor series :c Anyway that original siberia headset slapped, heard all kinda of things I couldn't before. V spicy

1. I've usually spent the holidays with my family, but this year we are splitting so that I'm spending Christmas Eve (which is when Finns usually celebrate the holiday with feasting) with @Unikonna and the on Christmas Day we are gonna visit my parents.

It's gonna be quite traditional Christmas Eve for us. Starting the day of with rice porridge (with a lucky almond hidden in the pot) and watching Santa Claus' Hotline (a TV broadcast where "Santa" at his home Korvatunturi takes calls from kids over the country) and thorough the day we'll watch the Christmas programming like any good early 90s kid. The Snowman, Joulupukki ja Noitarumpu and good old mega-corporational From All of Us to All of You by Disney are must-sees. Meanwhile we'll also decorate the Christmas Tree and start making the dinner.

At some point there will be also a visit to the graveyard. Traditionally Finns also visit their passed beloved one during the Christmas Eve. None of our relatives is buried close by, but we'll still go light a candle at the memory grove of of nearby cemetery.

Then there is gonna be Christmas Sauna (of course there is Christmas Sauna in Finland). We even got a vihta for this year (birch tree branch used for spanking one-self in the sauna). Then there is gonna be the main part, food. We are mostly doing vegan version of the traditional Finnish Christmas dishes, such as ham, gravlax and turnip casserole. Also there will be beer, wine, chocolates and all kinds of treats thorough the day.

2. One of the fondest is the first Christmas with a kitten. Our first cat, passed this year, was back then even more excited by the Christmas Tree, the lights and the wrapping paper than we kids we're about our presents. Another fond memory is the general memory of spending the Christmases at my late Grandpas place.

3. PSone and GBA are my fondest memories from childhood. As an adult, a manatee shaped tea infuser.
