Yes.There's too many singles players. So that make senses. Even Fuji got regulate to doubles and we knows he's equal to current Ryoma.
Thats why Konomi is putting Niou/Yagyuu as the doubles specialists next WC.
And probably Mouri/Yanagi. Both Doubles players too.
Meanwhile players like Fuji, Akaya, Kin can be all versatile players who play both singles and doubles

Guys, I have a fun question. If you are Mifune. How will you select lineups for games against Germany and Spain???
RULE: A player cannot play in both semis and finals. Only in 1 round. Because Japanese players hurt themselves when playing to the point that they cannot play the next round.
RULE 2: 4 HSERS, 3 MSERS RULE
This is mine
VS GERMANY:
S3: Oni
D2: Duke/Niou
S2: Tanegashima
D1: Atobe/Fuji
S1: BYOUDOUIN (only choice against VOLK)
VS SPAIN:
S3: Irie
D2: Ochi/Mouri
S2: Ryoma
D1: Ohmagari/Kintarou
S1: Tokugawa
Damn. Making lineups are hard when players are not available for 2 consecutive rounds. Unlike Germany who has an 8 man rotation every round.
