We have threads for Japanese and Korean music, but none for Chinese music! I guess the Chinese music scene isn't quite as hot as either the Japanese or Korean scenes, but I'm sure there are some among us who appreciate Chinese music~

So who are your favorite artists? What are your favorite songs? This thread is for anything and everything to do with Chinese pop/music

My favorite artists are: 五月天 (Wu Yue Tian/Mayday), 林俊杰 (Lin Jun Jie/JJ Lin), 周杰伦 (Zhou Jie Lun/Jay Chou), F.I.R. and a couple of others

Here are my current favorite songs:
F.I.R. - 月牙弯 (Yue Ya Wan/Moon Crescent Bay)
Jay Chou - 稻香 (Dao Xiang/Fragrance of Rice)

Lately there have been a lot of Chinese artists who also crossover into acting... I guess the biggest name of them (off my cuff anyway) would be Jay Chou, who just appeared in "Green Hornet" not long ago

Sadly, despite being chinese I'm not that much of a fan of chinese pop, if anything, the only songs that I remember liking the most was the one by JJ Lin and some by Jay Chou.

JJ Lin is awesome of course and one of my fav of his is A Thousand Years Later, Sarang Heyo and Wings, I love mummy too, was my favorite when I was a kid This goooooes way back cos he sang a lot of good ones back then, lol. I was primary 5 then..which is about 12 years old or 11.

For Jay Chou, my favorite is "Gei wo yi shou ge de shi jian"(didn't know if I spelt that right, which translates to "Give me the time of a single song"
and then there is "Tong Hua" by guo liang, sorry but all of them are old songs, I used to be a fan of chinese pop

Anyway, who could forget this awesome chinese duet too?
It was crazy back then, 4 years ago.

I know what you mean, Zeltrax... I was a fan as well, also around the same time as you If you're talking about JJ's "Mu Nai Yi" (Mummy) then it must have been when the drama Yin Cha Yang Cuo was on TV, right? I love all the other songs you mentioned from JJ and Guang Liang.

I love Liang Shan Bo and Juliet too!! That's one of my friends' and my karaoke staples

Nowadays while I don't actively search out Chinese songs to listen to, my friends often introduce nice songs to me Anyway, since you used to listen to Chinese songs, here are some great songs from that period you probably are familiar with as well!

I’m so glad you like it as well, Salad! It is a wonderful song. I tried to find the Misty x Ash AMV but it seems youtube already deleted it. If I’m not mistaken, that song is from the OST of a T-drama, but I don’t know the name of that drama.

I haven’t checked the translation of the song but everytime I listen to it, it gives me a bittersweet feeling…I feel as if it is a love song but a nostalgic one.

The song is from the OST of a T-drama called “Why why Love”. I haven’t watched that T-drama yet, but it was thanks to it that I found out that Kingone was a singer, I thought he was an actor only. I wonder if he is more popular as a singer or if he is more popular as an actor…

Here's another duet~ Angela Zhang Shao Han and Wilber Pan Wei Bo's "Kuai Le Chong Bai". Super catchy song It's old but I still like it since it's so catchy and hard to get out of your head haha

And another - David Tao Zhe and Jolin Tsai's "Jin Tian Ni Yao Jia Gei Wo (Marry me today)", another catchy song.

Old school favorite - Peng You (Friends) by Zhou Hua Jian

This song is always sung at graduation ceremonies and the like, or when gathered around a campfire on the last night of a camp... Love this song! The kind of song that will really make you miss your friends and appreciate their presence in your lives.

The theme song to the Taiwanese movie 那些年我们一起追的女孩 has been stuck in my head for a while It's a pretty awesome song though! The lyrics are written by the director of the movie (and the author of the book the movie is based off) himself

Sadly I don't follow a lot of C-Pop artists, but I do love Singer Sen (歌者森). Her songs are electronic and experimental like Björk.

I have no idea what’s the name of this song, all I know is that it is a beautiful song and that it is part of the OST of the Taiwanese drama called “The girl in blue”.
