The author did say that their original idea for the series was to make a story about people eating food so good that their clothes explode in ecstasy and he did give us that at the end. Serves us right for reading too much into the story....
Twist of a twist: The obvious scar on Souma's forehead, which is never explained in the series, becomes re infected for no good reason which causes Soum's weak heart to give out.
I like it because long ago I had imagined Erina this way at the end. A bit more down to Earth. The arrogant hair flip is gone.
It's interesting that Eishi and Rhindo have worked for Shinomiya. Eishi is more the kind of chef suited to Shino's style than Soma.
I was going to use mint until I realized mint actually goes really well with a lot of beef dishes. I remembered I accidently bought maple cured bacon one time and the maple flavor just did not belong in what ever I was trying to cook at the time.
My hope for the end is that we find Soma either...
Those benchmark goals, beating his dad, winning Blue, making Erina say his food was good: The author decided they were not the actual goal of his story. I don't think we will see these checked off the list with any satisfaction. Every fan thought this was going to be a typical shonen story...
Could the teaser about this being the end be just that? Maybe they will announce that they only meant the end of The Blue arc. They are really running out of time to explain Soma’s scar. SNS’s fragile reputation would be utterly smashed if they tack that story on at the last moment. ( I would...
I'm thinking Soma will make something to inspire Erina, rather than win Blue. Probably a version of transforming furikake gohan since Soma is all hung up on making Erina say it's delicious.
I thought this last panel was interesting, though it was too little too late. It sounds like it could be related to Azami's coincidence/conspiracy musings. I wondered a long time time ago if the the whole Azami arc was orchestrated by Senzaemon in the first place: A point, if it was the case...
I’ve been reading this manga for quite some time so it feels sad that it’s not getting a proper ending.
It makes me cry how crappy the end is.
I can't write anything more succinctly. There is so much more that could have been written. I wonder if the truth will come out about what happened to...
The mother and the scar to be explained and then on to the next manga project. It’s too bad. Lots of material for non ****** doujinshi though. So many characters to write stories for. We would have liked to have read them all.
His one knife will remember all those who helped him become a better chef or some such cliche so he doesn't need anyone else's knife and can work even more efficiently.
