title: Afterword
僕は上京してすぐのころは標準語をしゃべってる自分がはずかしくて仕方ありませんでした。標準語とは違うものだという感覚があったからです。まるで普段から芝居のセリフをしゃべってるような感じがして気持ち悪いし。かといって方言まる出しでしゃべる勇気もないのでふくし君のように短い単語をつないで会話してました。
たぶん相当あやしかっただろうと思います。
Text: Immediately after moving to Tokyo, it was so embarrassing speaking with a standard accent. It felt like I was doing it wrong. It was so uncomfortable, like going from speaking normally to reading lines from a play. And yet, I didn't have the courage to openly speak in my own dialect either, so like Fukushi-kun, I just spoke by stringing short bits of vocabulary together.
I bet people probably thought I was really suspicious.
